Ampalaya con Carne

Na-weirdohan sa akin ang mga classmates ko dahil sobrang enjoy ako kumain ng ampalaya. Puro pait lang naman daw kasi pag kumakain sila.
Naalala ko nung pinatikim ko sila netong baon ko. Mapait pa rin daw, pero masarap, pero mapait nga. Alak at yosi nga ini-intake nyo, bat ampalaya di nyo kaya?

Bitter gourd (ampalaya), sliced
Garlic, minced
Onion, finely chopped
Ground pork (or beef)
Beef broth cube
fermented black Beans (tausi)
Oyster sauce
Soy sauce
Salt & pepper
Slurry (cornstarch + water)
Cooking oil

  1. Add oil in the pan then sauté onion and garlic.
  2. Add the ground meat to the pan then season with salt and pepper.
  3. Once browned, add water and scrape fond at the bottom.
  4. Add the tausi and oyster sauce. Add sugar and soy sauce as well to taste. Bring to boil.
  5. Once meat is tender, add the ampalaya and simmer until cooked.
  6. Add the slurry little by little while mixing until desired thickness has been reached.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve.
